Most petrol rates are tied to a brand
By brand, the cards here split as: Petronas 6, Shell 2, BHPetrol 1, Petron 1, and 10 that state a rate at any station. A Petronas card pays nothing extra at Shell. Pick by the pump you actually use.
What the percentage means in ringgit
A petrol rate is a percentage of what you spend with the card at the pump, not of the pump price. At RM300 a month on petrol, 8% is RM24 a month, or RM288 a year. Subtract the annual fee, then check for a monthly cap and a minimum total spend.
Where the data holds caps and minimum spend (13 of these 21 cards), the picks above say so. For the rest we have only the bank's description line, so confirm the terms on the bank's page. 2 cards pay the petrol rate on weekends only.
